Nelson Colon - Studio Caricature Artist
I left Lorain, Ohio to New York 11 years ago to study illustration at the School of Visual Arts, graduated in 2001 and since then been attending the school of hard knocks. Realizing that I would eventually have to embrace the use of computers in today's market I have mastered Photoshop and use it to color and further edit scanned traditional drawings.
Though I prefer oils, the computer makes it possible for me to meet tight deadlines often given in commercial illustration, plus working in layers makes for a big advantage.
My style is a combination of caricature, pin-up and fantasy illustration, this comes from being a fan of Kruger, Boris Vallejo, Frazetta, Simon Bisely, Olivia , Sorayama. I hope to someday work for the music, bodybuilding and comicbook industry.
