Dan Dunn - Caricature Artist - Houston, TX

Dan started out as an Astroworld Caricaturist in 1977 while studying painting at Sam Houston State University. He worked nine seasons at the park and eventually became the artist trainer.Dan has passed himself off in the advertising business as everything from an illustrator to art director, graphic designer, project manager, creative director and eventually partner. This last title was enough to make him quit his job in the ad biz and devote himself to caricature full time. He was so successful in advertising that he continued working at caricature jobs to make ends meet.

Nationally recognized , Dan has traveled extensively as a caricaturist for tradeshow entertainment.
Dan has received top honors for “Most Humorous Cartoons” and a Bronze and Silver “Nosey” award in the National Caricaturist of the Year competition. He served as Competition Chairman, Vice President and President of the National Caricaturist Network and is one of the founding members of the organization

Dan also created 3 cows for the Houston Cow Parade, benefiting Texas Children’s Hospital.

Dan Dunn also currently stars in a new performance art show, “Paintjam” to rave reviews, ( he paints Lady Liberty on a 7 foot canvas to a Jimi Hendrix style “Star Spangled Banner in two minutes! ) and is a regular at the Laff Stop’s open mike night as a stand up comedian.

$170/hour with a 2 hour minimum on weekdays, 3 hours for weekends, and 4 hours for Christmas and Graduation Seasons.
