Glenn Ferguson - Caricature Artist - Orlando, FL

I come from Fort Worth, Texas, where I didn't grow up as a chicken farmer or cattle rancher, but rather as a humble artist drawing my way through my prepubescent years, frequently winning awards and recognition for my artistic skills.  I attended the University of North Texas on a small scholarship, majoring in painting and drawing specifically, and was on the Dean's list for the first two years.  At the age of 21 I joined up with the wonderful and talented crew at Fasen Arts, a caricature art company subcontracting artists throughout many hotel and theme park venues around the country.  I started out in Six Flags over Texas, under the careful direction of Chris Galvin where many of my initial influences still flourish in my work today.  After a couple of years I expanded my horizons to Las Vegas to continue to work with Fasen Arts in many of the hotel locations they have spread throughout the city, where my skills and talents grew and were influenced even more by many of the artists in the field.

After a year and a half or so more of learning about the art of caricature and it's hand in hand correlation with tourism, I realized that I should move my home to Orlando, FL, the largest tourist destination of the United States, where the base operation of Fasen Arts is located.  I planted my feet in Universal Studios Florida, which has to this day been the best move of my life.

It was here that I continued to work as hard as I could to improve my skills, improve my dedication to hard work, and to improve my life as an artist.  After three or four years in Orlando, I was assigned to be manager of caricature operations in Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.  I continue to work with the owners Steve and Tony Fasen and a crew of about 15 to 20 artists today on a daily basis, drawing 6 days a week

Over the past few years I have stretched to expand my caricature skills to more illustrative and fine work, and in 2002 I joined the National Caricature Network.  At the first NCN convention I received four awards for my work.  I plan on continuing my work with Fasen Artist and the NCN, expanding my talents and exploring new mediums.  At the ripe old age of 30, I plan on showing more of my work to eventually lead to publication and freelance work.
