Shelly Flory - Caricature Artist - Dayton, OH

An Ohio Native, Shelly Flory has traveled lived throughout the US as a fine artist and a caricature artist for over 15 years. She received her Bachelors Degree in the Fine Arts form Columbus College of Art and Design. Mastering a broad spectrum of mediums, techniques, and subject matters has allowed her to experiment with various approaches and truly express herself in her art.

Her caricature career began when she started drawing in Denver, CO; and continued in Washington DC; then Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and presently Charleston, WV. In her 15 years of practicing the art of caricature she has drawn at thousands or parties and also in her own studio has worked from personal photos, drawing portraits and caricatures for clients outside of parties and events. Over the years her caricatures have conformed over the years to a more mature portraiture style while leaving behind the cartoony and exaggerated drawings.

When drawing Shelly always tries to make something that you are proud to frame. Shelly always enjoys as onlookers watch in awe as her pencil brings a blank surface to life in only a few short moments. People find it flattering to be drawn especially when the a crowd begins to form and the excitement starts to build. Everyone has a touch of love for the arts even if they don't express it in their everyday lives. With caricatures, Shelly brings the art to them and in turn they bring a smile to her.
