At age 5 Martha saw an up side down teapot drying on the kitchen dish rack and thought it looked like the profile of her grandma, MoMo. She drew the teapot and it looked like MoMo. That was her first caricature.

Then during her senior year in college a scout came looking for artists to draw at Disney World. She went and partied hardy in Orlando, Florida for a couple of years while working for the Mouse. She must have drawn 2 million quick sketches back then. Great fun! After that she spent a month in Europe ogling over the great art, came home to Dallas, did some art teaching and working at Six Flags Over Texas. Got married, did the housewife thing, moved to LA, became a photographer. Photographed the stars, got divorced, thought about marrying Milton Berle, but he was way too old. Moved back to Dallas, needed a job, went back into caricature. Where now she is living happily ever after, happily doing caricatures all over the place.

During her time as an artist Martha has also acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with studio major from the University Of Texas at Austin. She was a teacher of portraiture and caricature at Dallas County Colleges for 4 years, is an award winner of regional art show for the Southwestern Watercolor Society, was a professional photographer for 6 years. Martha has been a professional artist for over 25 years, over 17 of those years which have been in caricature. Her most fun caricature job was on a cruise ship drawing the sometimes sea sick passengers visiting exotic islands.
