Judy Tourangeau

Judy, a self-taught caricaturist also a formally educated graphic designer, has always loved to draw people in particular and has a knack for capturing a flattering resemblance. As a natural extension of her talent for portraiture, she has developed a unique caricature style, in essence “portraits with a cartoony flair”, with large heads and small bodies, but decidedly different from the over-exaggerated style that may be unkind or grossly inaccurate in portraying a person’s distinctive features. Her clients really appreciate this style, often commenting on the likeness and the fact that other caricatures they had done in the past were “ugly” or looked nothing like them.

A down-to-earth social and friendly person, Judy provides low-profile entertainment and provides enduring keepsakes at any event, small or large. She has a tendency to make people feel at ease, while they pose for her artistry and she also enjoys people gathering around to watch.

In the past few years, she has drawn at numerous private gatherings such as Bar and Bat Mitzvah’s, birthday and anniversary parties, picnics as well as public or larger scale events, specifically fairs, Grand Openings, post-proms, graduation festivities, college events, charity fundraisers and even nightclubs. She is comfortable working in BW and color, full bodies or headshots, and also enjoys working solo or with other caricature artists.

She is also available for “gift” work and sign-in boards which feature much more detailed and precise caricature drawings, priced per project.

Speeds:
b&w heads only: 10-12/hour
b&w body/gag: 8-10/hour
color heads only: 10-12/hour
color body/gag: 7-10/hour

Rate: $140/hour with a two hour minimum.
