Celestia has drawn caricatures since childhood and has been getting paid for it since 1992. Upon graduating from the Johns Hopkins University, she won the Lois Sudler Prize in the Arts and later trained with caricature legend Irv "Quickdraw" Finifter, New Yorker cartoonist Tom “Chalk” Chalkley, and Gary “Toonboy” Smith. Despite years of hard work and dedication, she never got a cool nickname.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

She’s been a member of the National Caricaturist Network since 1996 and served two terms as secretary-treasurer. She airbrushes caricatures in the Excalibur, Aladdin, and Venetian Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. She also writes articles and serves on the editorial board for Car-i-ca-ture Magazine, a national publication on the art form and its practice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At parties, Celestia renders black and white caricatures in 3-5 minutes. She has delighted guests at events ranging from black-tie affairs to the most casual picnic. Her caricature sculptures are one-of-a-kind, and in the studio she works in both traditional and digital mediums. Illustration clients include Coca-Cola, Johns Hopkins University Press, Viva Magazine, Raymond Geddes, Inc., and many others.
