Kako - Maryland Clown

kako the clown

One day while standing in line in an art store, Kako noticed the lady in front of
her was purchasing some unusual items. Being an artist, Kako was curious, so she
asked her what she was going to do with them. She explained that she is a
clown and planned to use them to make a prop for a skit. Kako had never met a
clown before, and she asked lots of questions to the clown. They talked for a time and
the clown said that her clown club would soon offer a clown training class which
Kako eventually took because she thought everyone should have more fun in his life. The clown and Kako became best friends and the clown became Kako's clown sponsor.

From there Kako trained all over the United States with famous clowns
to hone her craft. Kako thinks it is fun to clown around, fun to make children happy,
fun to participate in parades, fun to be with other clowns and that it is a serious
business at the same time.

As an artist and a former art teacher, face painting quickly became Kako's specialty and she has begun to teach face painting to other professional face painters. Twisting balloons for children is also fun, walking around with marionettes makes children happy, and working with puppets brings children joy as well. Kako has begun to do themed performances as characters, i.e., Mrs. Claus reading, "The Night Before Christmas," and as Olivia and Ollie (her elf puppet) who describes his life at the North Pole, and The Patriotic Poet. All this brings a twinkle to a child's eyes and puts a smile on his face, and seeing that is magical for Kako, the children, and adults too.
