I've been a serious student of Astrology since the late 70's and am a board member of OPA, the Organization of Professional Astrology and numerous local organizations. Astrology has been traced back to the Babylonians and found in civilizations in both the Old and New worlds. It is both a powerful tool for character analysis and an unparalleled technique for timing. Astrology is so powerful that for all but the last 500 years, Astrology was reserved exclusively for royalty and heads of state. And, as Nancy Reagan demonstrated, it is still being used at the highest echelons of government (although not always publicly). Today, Astrology is used for guidance in many areas ranging from personal guidance and enlightenment, relationships, business and strategic planning, investing, and, yes, party entertainment.
In a party setting, upbeat, fun and empowering interpretations enlighten people about their lives, abilities and importance of self-determination. Party readings are insightful, fun and entertaining experience done in a light positive way that people really enjoy. When they are done, people feel good about themselves and excited about their future. My laptop does the mathematical calculations. Tarot, which also enjoys a long history, is very popular with party guests as well. Tarot's colorful display gives the subject an entertaining visual component to compliment the reading.
