Melissa U - Henna Tattoo Artist
Melissa has been intrigued by body art for as long as she can remember. As a child she was frequently reprimanded for drawing on her skin with markers. As she grew older and began to explore art she was always drawn toward the creation of motifs.
She then attended a bridal shower where there was a henna artist decorating all the guests. She was amazed to learn about henna, and to see how similar henna designs were to her natural style of drawing. It was love at first sight.
It was then that Melissa decided she needed to teach herself this magical art form. She researched henna online, bought books about henna, talked to other people about how to make the best henna possible and was consumed by all things henna.
After two years of practice, Melissa decided to start practicing henna professionally. Since 2005, Melissa has been servicing the Vegas Valley at festivals, private and corporate events and on various locations on the Las Vegas Strip including the Palms, MGM, and Wynn.
The samples below are representative of the simple designs Melissa can do at larger events.
Serves: Henderson, Las Vegas, and Boulder City, NV as well as surrounding parts of Nevada. Will travel!
Rate: $150/hour per artist with a 2 hour minimum.
Speed: 10-15 tattoos per hour, depending on design size and complexity.
