Sumeyya is a professional henna artist working in and around Detroit, MI and the Southeast Michigan area, with over 9 years of experience with henna body art! She has experience with both traditional and modern Indo-Pak henna styles, Arabic and North African (Moroccan) styles, as well as 'Western' tattoo style body art.
Sumeyya provides henna body art for all types of events: Bridal henna, party henna sessions, prenatal/belly blessings, corporate or university sponsored events, birthdays, graduations, bar- and bat-mitzvahs, fashion shows, media events, and public festivals.
"Henna, this form of natural and temporary body art, has been a passion for me since I was very young. My first designs were simple lines and happy faces, drawn with a $1 plastic henna cone I bought from the local Indian store. I was intensely frustrated with these lines, but for whatever reason, found it satisfying to sit hours on end, scribbling away. Several years later, some kind friends asked me to do their bridal henna, giving me the confidence to try this ‘henna thing’ professionally... the rest, as they say, is history!"
To insure that you get the darkest possible stain, Sumeyya makers her own henna paste using: fresh henna powder, lemon juice, sugar, and aromatherapy-grade essential oils (lavender and tea tree). Therefore, her henna is 100% natural and completely safe! |

Serves: Ypsilanti, MI and and up to 30 miles into the surrounding parts of Southeast Michigan including Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Canton, MI. Will travel!
Rate: $150/hour with a 2 hour minimum.
Speed:
- Small and Simple Designs: 25-30/hour depending on requests.
- Medium Designs: 12-14/hour depending on requests.
